A Couple YouTuber Books
Selp-Helf by Miranda Sings
I'm probably borderline old for being a fan of Colleen/Miranda, but I am one, and that fact added a star to my rating (3/5). As much as I love her videos, this book was just kind of a scrapbook version of them. I imagine it was really fun to make, and a cool resource for a character, but as far as reading goes...it was a little "meh". I chalk it up as a fun little entertaining thing to do.
Grace & Style by Grace Helbig
Maybe it's unfair that my feelings on this book were slightly influenced by the book that came before it, but I couldn't help it! I was so excited to read both Grace & Colleen's books that I couldn't handle putting a book between them. That said, Grace's book was far superior. There was actual writing and thought in here, laugh out loud moments, and despite being more of a parody than actual self-help, I learned some things and was actually creatively inspired! I realize that Selp Helf was meant to be a character dramatization and it definitely was - Grace & Style just had worthwhile substance to it, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! This is a perfect weekend or travel read!
