DAY 61 - May 14th, 2020
Yay for a day "off"! It doesn't have the same meaning it used to, but any change in routine is welcome! Matt let me sleep in, and he's on school duty today. I made some baked oatmeal real quick to use up some bananas and lend a hand for breakfast - waiting on that currently.
I switched my clothes to spring and summer yesterday and it's so nice to see my closet all full of bright colors again. I'm under a blanket, but it's windows-open weather at least and I am so thrilled! The lowest high in the 15 day forecast is 56 and the lowest low is 46 (overnight) so bring on the planting and patio swing mornings! Matt and the boys ordered me a hammock for Mother's Day and it's supposed to arrive today. I can't wait to put it under the canopy of the trees and just soak in the breeze there or do some reading.
Speaking of reading! I've been really bad at it during quarantine and I'm moving at a much slower pace than normal. I'm not sure if it's all the distraction - there's Animal Crossing, Netflix, Disney+, painting, etc. Or maybe it's the over-use of my brain power having to homeschool these kids. Maybe my efforts put into socializing from a distance. Probably all of it. I struggle to focus. I'm working through a couple books this week, though, and collecting and requesting ebooks for some newer releases that I'd hoped to be getting from the library right about now. I'm hoping to keep the momentum going and work through these:
Summer of Salt by Katrina Leno (finish)
Untamed by Glennon Doyle
End of Days by Sylvia Browne (finish)
Becoming by Michelle Obama
Big Summer by Jennifer Weiner
Open Book by Jessica Simpson
And If I can get my hands on them....
In Five Years by Rebecca Serle
Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid
Moment of Truth by Kasie West
If I Never Met You by Mhairi McFarlane
The Happy Ever After Playlist by Abby Jimenez
